Having completed a five week artist residency in San Miguel en Allende, Mexico [ check out SMeA blog ], I am discovering that creative contemplation during this period is resulting in my moving in unexpected directions . I am now exploring some new subjects and ideas about composition and colour in my artistic processes but more surprisingly perhaps, I am also focussed on being in the moment and creating happiness in my life generally. I suggest the two things go together , that is art & life ....don"t you?
Soon, I will begin to share new work with you on my "what's new" page and will continue to share new colour stories and art ideas coming out of my residency. I am exploring next steps to get my art " out there", and to discuss all things art. I will share all these things here on my blog , so stay tuned.
On the "living life" front, I decided to create this new page that I have titled " art critic" ....to share my other decision - I'm getting a puppy ......... WHAT? you say...... Don't you love the images of Robert Genn and his videos , always with one of his beautiful dogs at hand, or Jane Appleby's plein air videos with Leika, her beautiful muse always close by whether by the ocean or high in the mountains? Being in nature and being connected to nature feeds the creative spirit and I am looking forward to sharing the outdoors with my muse .......arriving in early May. So for family and friends - stay tuned to this page .... for discussions and experiences with my new art critic.
