A New Season and New Work
Well , December is here and my classes at Emily Carr are done for the term . All is quiet once more and I can immerse myself in all things creative . Here is one of my latest works.
I have recently fallen in love with the work of Wolf Kahn who is described as one of the most highly regarded colourists of today. But besides that , his subject matter is landscapes and his favourite artists seem to be mine.
My objective with this painting was to begin with a colour block of blues to purples and then to create natural energy through the colour vibration of lines - the energy of bare trees in late autumn protected by the strength of the mountains. Yes, the trees are bare and the earth colours are cooling but my studio is just warming up for the winter .
