chatterbox falls 36 x 36
Well , its 2016 . I've been hiding out in my studio and at Emily Carr the past many months in a push to complete my advanced painting certificate [ it was in my art business objectives .....it had to be done ].... And so it is .... certificate in hand I have been in my studio working through my 2016 Art objectives ..... and being able to paint only what I want to paint .
I have decided to keep it very simple this year . I am going to work in the realm of abstract landscapes with my focus on colour play, colour theory , colour emotion ..... and I'm going to go big..... I'm probably going to avoid shows and submissions and art crawls and just focus on painting . So if you don't see me around , send me a note [ See contact me on the website. I would love to hear from you].
I have four works currently in progress including the one you see here [ its pretty much done ...] This one is 36 x 36 ..... I'm getting comfortable with the size .... it allows me to " zone in" on colour plays within the canvas [ Check out " What's new" to see paintings within the painting of Chatterbox Falls ].
I'm told 40 x 40 is a size that galleries like to hang ..... and I'm almost ready to go bigger.....
So .... what do you think? If you have any favourite images you think I should consider painting let me know .... in the meantime if you don't hear from me I'll be in my studio painting . Happy 2016.
