I especially love the work of Polish artist Magdalena Abakanowicz, who has been honoured with being described as one of the top 40 most significant artists in the contemporary world .
Her largest installation is a magnificent set of 106 walking figures located in Chicago's Grant Park [ you must see it if you ever get there].... but in the meantime we have our own headless, armless human forms right in the City of North Vancouver.
Last weekend I oogled over the Giants mural that has transformed the six concrete silos at Ocean Concrete on Granville Island . Graffiti artists [and twin brothers] Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo [ Brazilian] are the graffiti artists that inspired this work .
The Biennale is a non-profit organization that promotes public art and this work is publicly funded so if you love it and wish to donate to support the project just google "OSGEMEOS" online for more info.......
We are truly fortunate to be able to learn and experience international art of this calibre in our own environment. Congrats to all who brought the Biennale to Vancouver.
