While I am waiting for my canvas undercoats to dry I thought I might like to have a glass of wine and share the names and a few images of two artists from Mexico that I recently had the joy to experience at an exhibition of some of their work at the Rosewood Hotel in San Miguel en Allende. [ a 5 star accommodation, situated on 12 acres in the midst of the town... the hotel itself is stunning ]. I was able to talk to the hotel's full-time curator on-site about the artists and their work .... and I had her all to myself . I won't write much about the artists now ... but wanted to share some images. I have shared some things on Facebook as well.

I am captivated my his work . The lines, the shapes, the movement, the whimsey ..... the stories we can imagine as we absorb the beauty in each work ... .....he reminds me to be more whimsical in my own work ... why not.... paint for the joy of it .... what else is there to search for in one's artistic endeavours? For that matter, I would like to encourage every one to find some joy in their day today ... make your own life more joyful today.

This artist's works are very very large .... and they are created with concrete and a variety of other additives to create a texture that can only be experienced up close , but believe me, the closer you get , the more exciting the work.... gladly, he is able to afford being able to move these very large [ and very very heavy ] works for exhibition purposes. [ Only an artist would wonder and admire his bravery to use such weighty materials in his work]....
PS- It is good to escape the Vancouver art scene once in a while and feel the creative influences being born in other countries ......it can only bring more life and personal experience to one's own work.[ Don't you think?]
Check out more of these two artists' work online. Let me know what you think?
