The Sunday market is all about the locals - its the place families come to eat, meet and pick up essentials . Here are a few pictures of some of the people I talked to and some of the foods that were on display .
Pork rinds in a big way
many kinds of chilies- caliente, muy and muy muy caliente [ hot, hot, hot]
gorgeous vegetales- many colours to paint
fresh fruit drinks - not sure what the blue one is ??
more fresh fruit .. interesting way to cut up a watermelon don't you think?
I learned a great deal about how the people here prepare cactus, and how they cook them . Google: how to eat cactus.. and you can learn about the types of cactus eaten, the health benefits [ many] and different Mexican recipes ... did not try any this morning but they are on my list.
Along with the chilies, this señorita was boiling peanuts in some kind of oil - you could have dry or cooked.
Beautifully crafted works of art - cowboy boots selling for about $ 40 Canadian .
Serving bowls with a wide variety of foods
This is the cake lady and her cakes all looked heavenly - chocolate and strawberry and pineapple and banana and so many more ..... all made with love. I kind of like her apron too....
The market was full of toys for children. Señor has some very imaginative balloons for sale .
I love the colours in these chilies... inspiration for my art ... hasta luego - see you later .
