Today was a great painting day... up early ; great coffee.. piano music streaming on my computer and birds singing through the back door. Some days are just more creative than others and this was just one of those days.
I know part of the reason for my happy day is the inspiration I get from other artists at the Harmony Arts Festival (on now in West Vancouver.) I get excited as it approaches each year because I use the Festival as an opportunity to just let the creative juices flow and absorb as much knowledge from all of the artists contributing and speaking and teaching as I can .
In the last few days I did a canvas with Alfonso Tejada to instruct and motivate me. I really liked his teaching style and hands on approach and Alfonso is a really good teacherI will definitely look for an opportunity to take classes with him. Check out his website at affonsotejada.com ...... He is going to do plein air classes in West Vancouver starting in mid September.
I loved sitting in on the drawing class /demonstration with Bill Higginson [ an Aussie] and another really practical teacher. I'm definitely inspired to sign up for one of his Drawing classes coming up in September .... check out his art at the Painters Landing in West Vancouver over the summer.
Last but not least I finally met Robert Genn and took inspiration from his 24 tips for painterly happiness and success.... perhaps that is why I had such a great day today. Thanks to all the artists so willing to share .
